Registered NGO Status
This page provides key information relating to TUNAFASI's governance and registered NGO status, including our statutes, policies, and official registrations.
Please note: Beginning of May 2026, the organisation changed its name from Stichting Impaction to Stichting TUNAFASI. Older documents may therefore still refer to the previous name.
Legal Status and Registration
Stichting TUNAFASI (formerly Stichting Impaction) was founded in May 2019 by Betteke de Gaay Fortman. The foundation is statutorily established in Amsterdam and operates under Dutch law, with registration number 74882538 (KVK). Its statutory objective is to increase the self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life of marginalized communities in the Global South.
ANBI Status
TUNAFASI holds the status of Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI). A Public Benefit Organisation, as recognised by the Dutch Tax Authority. This status confirms that the foundation operates exclusively in the public interest.
CBF Quality Mark
TUNAFASI has chosen not to apply for a CBF quality mark. Given the small scale of the organisation, the associated costs and administrative burden are disproportionate. In its place, quality and transparency are assured through annual monitoring visits to DRC, regular programme reports, and an annual audit conducted by an independent accounting firm in Eastern DRC on behalf of our grassroots partners ADED and AJEPAD. In the Netherlands, the annual accounts are prepared by the financial administration office 'De Meent'.
Data Protection (GDPR)
TUNAFASI complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which has applied since 25 May 2018. Appropriate measures have been taken in proportion to the size of the organisation, including the secure handling of privacy-sensitive data of grassroots partners and financial partners.
Social Responsibility and Environmental Footprint
TUNAFASI is a small organisation with a minimal operational footprint. The foundation has no fixed office and works paperlessly wherever possible. Travel to countries of our grassroots partners is kept to a minimum. As an organisation working in service of vulnerable communities, we are conscious of our responsibility to operate sustainably and with care for the environment in all aspects of our work.
